It’s that time of year again–Sashay by the Bay, Tsunami’s own drag race! This is a fundraiser for our astounding Tsynchro team freshly returned from nationals. Please join us for this casual and unusual event, either in drag or as a volunteer or spectator! Our goal for this year is $2,013.00!
What: Drag queens walk and talk their way from Pier 39 to the Fairy [sic] Building clock tower
When: Saturday, November 2, 2pm (enough time after practice to eat breakfast and do makeup)
Where: Meet at the statue of the sea lion family just north of Pier 39
Who: Anyone on the team wanting to participate! Each drag queen will have a wrangler/photographer
How: swimmers and friends make a tax-deductible donation online to support the bravery and endurance involved in Sashaying by the Bay
Drag can be loosely defined–if you have a fabulous Halloween costume that just must be seen again, this might be a chance to wear it with style. One nice thing about drag: sometimes the homelier you look often the warmer the welcome you receive.
Ways to be involved:
1. Dress in drag, sashay your way by the bay, and ask friends to sponsor you in this one-of-a-kind event
2. Volunteer to be a race official, drag queen wrangler, or photographer
3. Donate to the event by emailing me the amount you wish to donate, and we can bill you through ClubAssistant (so easy!)
4. Send out a message asking friends to donate
5. Come and cheer us on!
The winner? The race officials will decide!
